Ingredients

7 Tbsp Butter

10-12 slices of bacon, cut into 1 inch pieces

1 Pack of Cajun Style Andouille Sausage, cut into 1 inch pieces

1 Head Cabbage, sliced & chopped

2 Yellow Onions, diced

1/2 Cup White Wine Vinegar

Salt & Pepper to taste

1 Tsp Chili powder

1 Tsp Garlic Powder

1 Tsp Paprika

Instructions

  1. Heat a large pan on medium heat and add the sliced bacon. Cook until slightly crispy, then remove to a paper towel-lined plate.

  2. Add sausage and onion to the same pan, cooking until sausage is nice and browned and onions are translucent.

  3. Add Chili Powder, Garlic Powder, Paprika, salt, pepper & stir to combine.

  4. Place the cabbage on top along with the butter (sliced into 1/2 inch slices) and white wine vinegar.

  5. Use tongs to mix and allow to simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until cabbage is buttery soft and slightly caramelized.

  6. Toss the bacon back in, and stir together before serving.

Serve as a side or as a main dish with rice and corn bread. Enjoy!!!
